Doctrine
Atwater Communitty Church
We believe in the incarnate Christ, born of a virgin by supernatural act of God the Father and the Holy Spirit of God.
We believe Christ lived a sinless life and is the unblemished Lamb of God sent to redeem a sinful fallen world, in that whosoever shall believe, follow Christ shall have eternal life.
We believe Christ was beaten, scourged and crucified as the final atonement for sin, that on the third day Christ supernaturally was risen from the dead as death has no hold on a sinless man.
We believe Christ is God, part of the Trinity, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Son and the Holy Spirit can do nothing apart of the Fathers will. Jesus said if you have seen Me, you have seen the Father. If one does not recognize this then they have no part in the Son or the Father and remain unsaved and faithless.
We believe that when Jesus was risen, He became the First Fruit of the resurrection and those who chose to follow Christ also will be risen bodily, when Christ comes back for His church.
We believe as Christ ascended to heaven after setting the captives free, alive, walking the earth and dead in paradise that those who are in Christ will also at death be in the presence of Christ. To be absent from the body is to be in the presence of God.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and wholeheartedly encourage Christians to develope a deep relationship with Christ through the Holy Spirit in which they sit and read scripture, pray, listen for Christ to speak through Holy Spirit and also to dialogue with Christ and even to journal what we are hearing and answers to questions we are prayerfully asking God...Divine Revelation.
We believe Christ empowers each and every Christian with one or more gifts to be utilized to edify the body, the church. Wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, interpretation of tongues, all given by Holy Spirit.
We believe Christ gave some to be Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers for the equipping of ministry, to edify the body.
We believe that every Christian has been empowered to be fruitful and thrive in the fruit of the Holy Spirit apart from the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self control. These are manifest by living and walking according to the Holy Spirit.
